A Hungarian-Ukrainian artist, Mihail Kolodko, has filled the city with small bronze statues.  These hidden gems tell stories about local legends, historical moments and playful urban tales. Each statue is a surprise waiting to be found.

During this tour, we’ll explore the city on foot and by public transport, we try to find as many of these mini masterpieces as possible. Because they’re scattered across several neighborhoods, you’ll not only uncover Kolodko’s works but also discover different faces of Budapest itself. We usually spot around 10–15 statues, depending on the pace and weather.

Meeting point: in front of the New York Café

We were 5 friends from France and Finland staying in Budapest for a couple of days and we all of us loved this tour. Our guide E.T. was supernice. He took us around Budapest in places off the beaten track, the tour was full of little surprises. It was beyond our expectations and we definitely recommand this tour, thank you E.T! Gavin: Tour was awesome. ET was a great guide who was full of knowledge not only of the mini sculptures but of Budapest itself as well. It was exactly the kind of tour I love doing, quirky and definitely not just the same old tour as every other one.

If I could give this more stars, I 1000% would! ET was friendly, patient, and a great tour guide. It ended up being a private tour (which was amazing!!) in which he customized it exactly to my preferences, but I imagine he would do the same accommodating whether it was 1 or 20! Such cool tidbits of history incorporated throughout each stop and a totally unique way to see the city. The perfect blend of art and history. Some of the statues are so small or hidden I definitely would have never found them just wandering around. The best way to describe it would be that I felt like an insider to a fun secret of Budapest. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something unique, educational and entertaining!

It is like a treasure hunt, to find these small, witty sculptures around the city, that are not just there randomly... I really enjoyed the tour, can only recommend. Bring comfy shoes!!
