There’s a district just a few steps from downtown Budapest that feels like a completely different world. This is District VIII, one of the city’s most diverse and controversial neighborhoods. Roma communities, immigrants, long-time locals and a new wave of artists all live side by side here. The result is a unique cultural mix: raw, colorful, sometimes chaotic, but always full of life.

During this tour, we’ll explore the many faces of District VIII. We’ll stop by cool bars and quirky shops, chat with locals, visit a huge Chinese market and discover much more along the way. It’s a living neighborhood: always changing, always surprising.
